Our planet Earth is set to see a rare Total Lunar Eclipse on the evening of 28/08/2007, which can be seen almost around the globe with the naked eye. No telescope is needed provided the sky is clear just before dawn. If not – a telescope wouldn’t help either.

Just make sure you have a nice position to see the moon.
What is a Lunar eclipse?

This is what happens, if you drink too much of some special alcoholic beverages. Be it Jim Beam, Johnnie Walker or others.
The author of this drink menu had obviously too much of Jack Daniels or Gin.
And why not? Life in Albania might be soooooo much easier, with oiling your throat properly.
The picture was taken by my friend Steffos, who started this Overland trip from Germany to India mid last year, coming back earlier this year in February. Have to ask him, how the people in this town – Llogara in Albania – look like and behave.

Know it sounds funny
But, I just can’t stand the pain
Girl, I’m leaving you tomorrow
Seems to me girl
You know I’ve done all I can
You see I begged, stole, and I borrowed! (yeah)

Asian women inspired the fantasies of men around the world for ages. In recent times you can see more and more Asian actresses like Lucy Liu, Gong Li, Zhang Ziyi, Michelle Yeoh on the big screen as well; as Hollywood got aware of their obvious features and attraction to the male population of this planet.
That wasn’t always the case in the western hemisphere.
Let’s go R&R!
Before the American GI’s ‘erected’ their first R&R (Rest & Relaxation) camps in Philippines during and after WWII or in Thailand during the Vietnam war, this part of the world sparsely saw more than a few naughty Europeans or Americans. Reports during the old Colonial Times rarely mention this topic at all. This of course all changed back then and more.

Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears. We must walk consciously only part way toward our goal and then leap in the dark to our success.
They say that time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself. All change is a leap in the dark, a spontaneous, unpremeditated act without benefit of experience.
Technorati : change, leap in the dark, motivation, the dark

Over the last few years, some countries in Asia made it more and more difficult for long-term tourists (or none-working Expats) to stay longer than just a few months in country. Thailand only recently made their Visa Rules more difficult and complicated; before that monthly Visa Runs to the neighbouring countries were quite common.
Indonesia introduced a Visa-On Arrival (VOA) for maximum 30 days with respective fees only back in 2004 – before you could get a 3 months stamp for free. The bureaucratic processes to attain and extend a Social Visa are legendary. Although there were some rumours of longer VOA (up to 120 days) a few months back, those have yet to materialize.

Awhile ago we were discussing, if it’s a wise or safe decision to fly a Budget Carrier long-haul. However your opinion is about that subject – luckily time didn’t stop and some of the usual suspects seem to follow through with the idea.
Even if you don’t like the idea to fly long-distance or intercontinental flights with a no-frills airline; it surely would mean more competition and hopefully lower prices for all of us.
So what’s the news?
It seems that there is some movement in the sector, Asian Aviation pioneer Tony Fernandes looks like he’s teaming up with creative aviation individualist Richard Branson, to really make cheaper long-distance flights possible for everyone.

In Singapore or Hong Kong, traffic follows designated laws and common sense rules, issuing driving licenses requires that you learn driving and prove your skills first and pass a driving test afterwards. The rules are enforced by a proper funded and highly motivated Police Force as well.
So far so good.
Unfortunately, this rosy picture isn’t the case in most other places in Asia, even cities like Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Manila or Denpasar are pure Chaos during Rush Hour and still near-battle zones during any other time. Get out to the country-side and it even gets better, as you can run into Ox Carts, 5 people riding 1 bike or trucks loaded up to the horizon with whatever grows on the fields or got killed along the way.
