Whatever God you believe in, or even none at all – the recent economic crisis can shatter your beliefs and make you doubt the roads you are walking in life. Here are some calming lyrics most people can relate to.
Who knows, why we are doing what we are doing? Let’s just keep moving on, walking with our heads held high!
I never thought much of Kid Rock, for me he was just some dumb Punk, doing his thing and getting to ride Pamela Anderson – not my type though. Then my buddy Jeremiah introduced me to this song, during one of our last Karaoke sessions in Bali – man, I miss those!
So, this video is for you Jerm; and to everyone out there, who feels battered by the smashing waves of the current turmoil. Turn the volume up:
I’ve been sittin here
Tryin to find myself
I get behind myself
I need to rewind myself
Lookin for the payback
Listen for the playback
They say that every man bleeds just like me
And I feel like number one
Yet I’m last in line
I watch my youngest son
And it helps to pass the time
I take too many pills it helps to ease the pain
I made a couple of dollar bills, but still I feel the same
Everybody knows my name
They say it way out loud
A lot of folks fuck with me
It’s hard to hang out in crowds
I guess that’s the price you pay
To be some big shot like I am
Out stretched hands and one night stands
Still I can’t find loveAnd when your walls come tumbling down
I will always be aroundPeople don’t know about the things I say and do
They don’t understand about the shit that I’ve been through
It’s been so long since I’ve been home
I’ve been gone, I’ve been gone for way too long
Maybe I forgot all the things I miss
Oh somehow I know there’s more to life than this
I said it too many times
And I still stand firm
You get what you put in
And people get what they deserve
Still I ain’t seen mine
No I ain’t seen mine
I’ve been giving just ain’t been gettin
I’ve been walking that there line
So I think I’ll keep a walking
With my head held high
I’ll keep moving on and only God knows whyOnly God…Only God
Only God knows why
Only God…knows…why, why, why
Only God knows why
Take me to the river hey
Take me to the river
So if you did read until here, there isn’t much left to say. Sometimes we try too hard to analyze and get the big picture, of what life really is all about.
Sometimes it’s just about walking tall and enjoying it as much as you can, even if life hands you lemons from time to time. Even if you are the best guy in the world and only have good deeds, bad things can happen. But it is how you handle them and how you get through them, back on the road to what you really want and who you really are.
Even if you have it all, the fancy lifestyle, the cars and the apartments and the fancy job, it surely is no guarantee to making you happy. So go your way, find your path and let nobody f*ck with you. You are responsible for your own happiness and money is just an illusion.

that was my theme song for a segment of my life, but that moment is long gone. i do still go back and reminisce those times but i think i stand taller now and since i find that happiness is transient, i choose to stick with this little bundle of joy i have in my heart. now that, no one can touch! ;)
thanks for the song though chris, but i think you should embed the video here instead of sending people off to youtube.

Bundle of joy beats nostalgia anyway, jerm.
Yup, including the video would be better, but with my less-than-dialup-speed here, messing with the code in posts is a tough call, so I went the easy way…

Good job! Yeah, we will come back eventually. But probably first going to Germany in May for a 2-3 weeks and after that……let’s see…..most likely to the Philippines for a while. Have to find a different Visa solution for Indonesia first as well, the Sosial Budaya is just too much pain long-term…we will catch up somehow in between!

A really heart touching poem. Please attach such emotional poems in the intervals of time. Nice theme of the poem.

The upside of this recession in the U.S. is that other people are FINALLY understanding ” why”. Other people are starting to get that downshifting is actually a good idea ! For once, I have friends saying ” you are smart to drive a cheap car , have a roomate in your home ect. “. These are the same people who used to think I was crazy for keeping my economy car when I could afford ” better ” and who used to make fun of me ( in good spirits, not being mean ) about living in an apartment. There is a lot more travel interest coming about from my close friends ( who didn’t express an interest before ). It’s kind of a neat shift/result of the economic disaster here.

Amanda, great observation! So after all people acknowledge that we aren’t that crazy?! :D

Oops Ben, forgot answering your question: mainly I receive passive income from previous activities; like rent, interest, dividends. So currently don’t work to make a living.
