Nomad's SnippetsI wanted to take the chance to hand out a bit of link love and introduce the sites of 2 Bloggers in Bali, who I know personally:

Hileud is a young and talented Sundanese woman, who writes in both English and Bahasa Indonesia. She is very good at using WordPress and besides her great content is constantly updating and fine-tuning her site.

Too bad that my Indonesian isn’t that good yet; because there are persistent rumors that plenty of young Indonesian males were falling in love with Hileud just by reading her own poems and thoughts on her site. Isn’t that truly magic? ;-)

Swimming with Dolphins in Lovina, North BaliSome people dream of flying to the Moon. Others dream to retire early. Other humans would give an arm and a leg, if they could fulfill their dream of Swimming with wild Dolphins.

While at least the first dream is quite unlikely, if you are not happen to be Charles Simonyi, or any other Billionaire Employee or Entrepreneur – or live and breathe rocket fuel and work for NASA, ESA or the Russian Space Agency – the other mentioned Dreams are easier to fulfill:

If you happen to be in Indonesia, there are interesting locations to spot Dolphins in their natural habitat or even swim with them in a salt-water pool.

Dreaming of Retirement? Most people still believe that they are dependent on what Government pension plans or their previous company will provide for them when they are ready to retire. Or that they have to work until 65, 68 or even until they drop dead to the floor. That debt, cost of living and steady consumerism and expenses will never allow them to live a more relaxed life and enjoy their day – with whatever comes to their minds.

Do you belong to them?

The Story about the poor old FishermanOne day a rich Westerner who had made sqillions from speculating on the stock market was strolling along the beach and saw the fisherman pulling in his boat with his meager catch.

The rich Westerner stopped and remarked “not much of a catch today”. The fisherman replied “yes not much” but explained that his small catch was enough for him and his family.

The rich Westerner asked, “But what do you do with the rest of your time?”

Religion - A View from the OutsideIf you think in stereotypes – religion is one of the thinnest ice to walk on. Watching the World News these days, it’s hard to not think in stereotypes, as you could come to the belief, that all Muslims preach Jihad against Christians, Christians can’t accept the existence of other religions besides their own and Jews still feel like the whole world has sworn against them and is up to eradicate them completely from our planet. Hindus don’t care about anything; if their neighbors are slaughtered or murdered, no worries – they will be reincarnated in a better form anyway. Buddhists are generally negative and only think about collecting money from their followers, to build new Temples and Pagodas – they will let everyone else in your Buddhist Community know, if you didn’t give anything this time; making sure, that the bad karma gets you in the end. How does that fit with the eradication of all greed, hatred and egoism?
